Dye-clay nano-pigments are considered a new class of hybrid pigments which combine the good color characteristics of cationic dyes with the excellent stability and barrier properties of nanoclay. The structural, rheological and fade resistance properties of nanocomposites (NC) based on linear propylene ethylene copolymer (PEC, Petroquímica Cuyo) and a commercial maleic anhydride grafted PEC (PECg, Arkema) used as compatibilizer are analyzed considering a very small concentration of an organophilic montmorillonite (oMMT, Nanomer® I.44P of Nanocor) dyed with rhodamine (RA, Aldrich).
